From February 06, 1981 she started her career in Health Research in Pakistan. She was appointed as Medical Officer at the Pakistan Medical Research Council’s Research Centre at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) Karachi. During her tenure as Medical Officer, she developed expertise in gastroenterology and hepatology. She was promoted to Senior Medical Officer on September 27, 1994 at the same centre and was given administrative charge of the centre. She collaborated with various national and international health research organizations and conducted research on different aspects of gastroenteritis and hepatitis.
Keeping in view of her contribution to health research, she was promoted as Research Director of this centre on October 15, 2003. She has presented 125 research papers at national and international Symposia, Seminars, Workshops and Conferences. There are 99 original research articles and 16 editorials to her credit, published in national and international medical journals.
Presently she is working as Executive Director of Pakistan Medical Research Council, Islamabad.
