Institutionalization of Health Systems Research (HSR): Establishment of HSR Centres and Development of Field experimental areas:

The project was aimed to institutionalise HSR within the health care delivery system through establishment of HSR centres. Five HSR Centres, one in each province and AJK at the Health Directorate, have been established, which will provide the infrastructure and mechanism for HSR. Field experimental area for each centre has also been identified.

All 5 centres have been equipped with necessary manpower and provided with all necessary facilities like computers, furniture and other office accessories. Survey questionnaires and family folders have been printed and sent to all centres. Each centre has selected its field area and has constituted Field Training and Supervisory Teams. Training of the trainers has been done in a 2 day workshop with the support from Health Services Academy. The teams have gone back to their centres and field work has started.

These centres have been transferred to the provinces under their administrative control. Its a continuing process.
