STRUCTURE AND ORGANIZATION OF THE COUNCIL

The PMRC performs its functions through:

All powers of the PMRC are vested in the BoG. These include both Administrative and Financial powers. The members of the BoG serve in their ex-officio capacity. Heads of major public sector organizations, with direct or indirect relevance to health research, are represented on the PMRC Board.

The BoG exercises its authority through an EC and the Executive Director. A TAC and a number of expert panels, whose members are selected from among the leading medial researchers and academicians of the country, provide technical guidance and advice to the PMRC.

The Head Office of the PMRC is located in Islamabad. The Executive Director is based in Islamabad. Beside its routine administrative functions, the Head Office organizes research studies at the national level, coordinates the work of its 12 research centres, arranges training on medical research, disseminates the findings of research and establishes links within country and abroad.
