Snakebite has been described as a neglected disease and little useful guidance has been made available to doctors despite published evidence that reliance on western textbooks is sub optimal. In order to provide doctors and administrators with the latest and most effective guidelines for snakebite management, PMRC have developed the below guide which deals with all aspects of snakebite management in the two most seriously impacted regions of Asia and Africa. The guidelines are freely available for downloading in your local environment. There are detailed sections on the snakes, the use of anti venom, dealing with snakebite in adverse settings, how to equip a basic medical facility to deal with snakebite and how to manage snakebite in such settings with clear referral guidelines to better equipped hospitals.
